Ayrton Senna Drama Greenlit by Netflix

The legacy of Ayrton Senna is one that hasn’t been forgotten by Brazilians or international fans of motorsports. It’s prompted Netflix to announce a fictional drama series based around the life & career of Ayrton Senna, with its release date slated to arrive for Mid 2022. It’ll conclude of eight episodes & sustain a mini-series format, meaning the option for a sequel season isn’t viable. Netflix & Gullane Entertainment have been provided unprecedented access to film the fictional drama, giving more insight into the life of Ayrton Senna.

Gullane Entertainment clarified that the eight-part mini-series would display the intimacy of Ayrton Senna, who became a national hero for Brazil & conquered the motor-racing world. It’ll also show more in-depth insight into his family relationships, and personality – How those relationships affected the three-time F1 Champion. Netflix greenlit the Ayrton Senna documentary after the success of “Senna: The Documentary” and “Drive to Survive”. The popularity behind Netflix’s Drive to Survive has allowed for a 3rd season to enter production, with filming underway at each respective F1 Grand Prix.

The Ayrton Senna Drama Series will start in 1981 when the Brazilian moved to the United Kingdom & competed in the Formula Ford 1600 Championship. The eight episodes seen throughout this mini-series will end with Senna’s death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. All notable Grand Prix victories accomplished by Ayrton Senna in his F1 career will be recreated for supporters. It’s the perfect way for younger Formula One fanatics to learn about the life of Senna.
